Mr. Cao Guangping graduated from the Department of Piano and Composition of Shanghai Music Conservatory. Now, he is a member of China Musicians' Association, councillor of Guangdong Musi- cians Association and Professor of Guangzhou Xinhai Music Conser- vatory Composition Department. He is a Well-known composer and pianist who has won many awards from home and abroad. He has composed seven symphonies and orchestration, dancing music, chorus, folk music, piano music, music for movies and TV all together 500 pieces. Among these, his works:

Quintet, Fugue Poem, won the Second Prize in the Fourth China National Music Evaluation, Guangdong Luxun Art Award.

Piano solo with two Chaozhou Gongs, Nu Wa, was played at the World Modern Music Festival in 1988 and received comments.

Quartet won an award in the 21st International Composition Con- test which wash held in the U.S.A.

Thinking in Night won the Top One in New York Long Wind Interna- tional Composition Contest in 1995.

Mr. cao made his first world performance in Lincoln Centre of New York.
